  • The role is a complex, dual role, covering both a functional manager role (service owner) as well as the management of the Technology _VOIS execution team that delivers the Configuration Management function/service.
  • Manage, enact and assure the IT infrastructure configuration management vision, strategy, process and capability for Digital & IT and wider Vodafone organization.
  • Accountable and supporting Configuration Management service implementation across Vodafone and driving Configuration Management practices while ensuring tools evolution in line with the advancements in knowledge, technology and datacentre component catalogue.
  • Accountable for the standardization of tools and processes in the IT Configuration management areas, determining the compatibility of new infrastructure components and accommodating them into architectural data models so to be reflected in the Vodafone inventory tools, making sure to mitigate the exceptions and propose viable solutions where the case.
  • This role also includes the planning, identification, control, verification and reporting of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Manage the discovery, data collection & analysis and business decision making framework for IT configuration and data utilization through the relevant tools and processes for IT Operations, Infrastructure and Technology _VOIS and wider Vodafone organization.
  • Manage and lead a highly motivated and capable team.
  • Drive strategic decisions to satisfy future customer demands/trends, assuring the successful completion of different deliveries within the BMC Discovery Platform. Risk Management - Manages the Configuration Management risk repositories and mitigation plans to ensure no negative impact on the roadmap and business objectives.

  • Establish a strong Centre of Excellence for Configuration management, to support Vodafone Business and execution of the Datacentre Strategy in line with the technological and financial challenges of Vodafone IT.
  • Increase business agility and agile maturity.
  • Define agile adoption and performance metrics, monitor, assess and report them regularly, and identify areas for improvements.
  • Manage IT Configuration management for Vodafone. This includes VCI scope, Emerging Local Market scope and Vodafone Hosting business scope. Summary of assets under direct and indirect control is a > 50,000 servers – total Net Book Value approx. €250m for servers – with associated storage.
  • Provide customers simple access to valuable information through standard or ad-hoc reports and interactive solutions with the current picture and basic forecasts based on past trends for configuration and consumption of infrastructure resources, with particular focus on the IT Operations, Infrastructure and Technology _VOIS shared estate. Drive re-use to limit infrastructure growth to <8% per year and reduce CAPEX / OPEX consumption. (Direct impact on €10m - €20m of IT cost annually)
  • Infrastructure assets. Drive internal and external audits on process and Configuration Items (CIs)
  • Quarterly resources and budget forecasts

With these skills you are a great candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience in the IT/Telco service management, service delivery and/or service design in large scale, complex multi-functional, multi-national IT organisations.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Product/Service design leader role with proven track record of delivering a product in the telco/data centre/cloud domains using agile methodology.
  • Strong knowledge of IT Operations, Infrastructure and Technology _VOIS ITSM processes, design and lifecycle management in order to ensure deliveries are executed in the best possible methodology considering technical and commercial needs of the organisation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Configuration Management best practices (including ITIL Service Management) with well-developed technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies.
  • Project Management (Kanban, SAFe, Agile, DevOps)
  • Degree in Engineering, Software development, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
  • Proven track-record of successful Product Ownership across full product lifecycles, from MVP to marketable products in iterations, including support transition.
  • Experience with requirements definitions and use case modelling.
  • Consolidated knowledge and continuous update of telecommunications and IT Trends.
  • Domain, ITSM, Configuration Mgmt. and commercial knowledge and experience, business acumen.
