ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

The job holder is expected to fulfil the principal accountabilities such that the output meets the required standards in respect of timeliness, accuracy and reliability and also be able to work under pressure. In addition a thorough understanding of the Dutch and Swiss corporate structure is essential and a good understanding of the other components of the structure. The job holder is also expected to act as a team player in order to ensure that the performance of the ACO, SCO and Exports and the services provided by it meet the highest quality levels possible at all times. Furthermore, the job holder is expected to be able to act and communicate with all managerial levels

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• The bookkeeping of all Amsterdam Corporate Office (ACO); Swiss Corporate Office (SCO) and Export companies where these activities are serviced by the ACO financial team
• To manage and execute all financial transaction in compliance with regulations to ensure a timely submission of VAT returns, royalty & intercompany administration for the ACO
• Manage, and where applicable improve, administrative and business processes in order to ensure control, effectiveness and efficiency on the ways of workings in line with the business control framework.
• Oversee ACO’s, SCO’s and Exports financial accounting system (SAP) and all required changes due to daily business and/or BAT Group requirements
• The preparation of the cash forecasts. This work will require particular attention to detailed planning in various key areas. The job holder needs to be familiar with multi-currency accounting and consolidation techniques., international accounting standards and the Group Accounting Policies and Procedures in order to manage the role in an efficient manner.
• The job holder will support the Finance Manager Trade Marks and the Senior Financial Accountant.
• The job holder will also assist the Financial Accountant with other ad hoc tasks as and when required.
• The job holder will from time to time be required to manage or assist in various SCO/BAT group projects.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

• Have knowledge of BAT policies and procedures, BAT systems, like SAP, IHC, E-Flow, Easy IT, BATCASH
• Be familiar with Microsoft Office products and have good understanding of the accounting systems (SAP) and electronic banking systems.
• Be able to communicate both in writing and orally in a clear and professional manner with senior finance and treasury personnel in English.
• Have adequate financial calculation skills, a good understanding of the Group’s management and legal structure and VAT.
